New babies can't lift their heads. They need their necks supported. At about 6 weeks, most babies first start to lift their heads. New babies close their hands to make a fist. They can hold a soft toy. At about 6 weeks, babies' hands open. This is when they start to look at their hands and see that they can move them. Soon they will find their feet too. When a baby is about 2 or 3 months old, she may start to reach for things.
